Schluss. Aus. Vorbei. Das Two Days A Week in Wiesen sorgte für einen standesgemäßen Ausklang der diesjährigen Festivalsaison, die für meine Wenigkeit außerdem aus Urban Art Forms und Frequency bestand [Arenapalooza und Indie Project Fiasko zählen nicht].
Es war sehr schön, es hat mich sehr gefreut! Hier nun ein kleines Best Of der Acts dieser kleinen aber feinen Sause, deren Schlussakkord den Toten Hosen vorbehalten war.

It has been exactly one week, filled with a lot of work, since the FM4 Frequency Festival closed it’s gates in the early morning hours of Sunday, August 23rd 2009.

Everybody who knows me a little bit knows that I worship Radiohead. It’s my favourite band ever [obviously if you have a look at my last.fm stats], has given me a couple of very special moments, made me travel hundreds of kilometers and are huge source of inspiration for me. Thus, having the privilege to taking photos at their first show ever on Austrian soil has certainly be the highlight of my concert photography so-called-career. So this is no review and not objective in any kind of ways, it’s more of an ode featuring the photos I took on that very special night.

A very warm Good Morning from Frequency Festival in St. Pölten. Just a little note, what to expect here in the next few days. My feet hurt as hell, but it’s only as much hard work as it is pleasure.
I shot shows by CJ Ramone, Dúné, Glasvegas, Enter Shikari, Jet, The Ting Tings, AFE, Eagles of Death Metal, Peter Fox, The (International) Noise Conspiracy, Tomte, Thursday, Jarvis Cocker, Little Boots, Bloc Party and Radiohead. So far!
Also, I have Polaroid portraits of Kele Okereke from Bloc Party and the nice guys of Polarkreis 18. So far!
And, of course, a whole load of photos from around and about and everything.
A couple of Radiohead songs from last nights set will be aired on FM4 at 7pm later tonight, make sure you check that out! Play safe, I’ll catch you later.

So oder so ähnlich hätte es gestern in der Ottakringer Brauerei aussehen sollen. Hat es aber nicht. DIE Show des Urban Art Forms 2009 lieferten Deichkind ab, da kann und wird niemand widersprechen. Energiegeladen, laut (die Wartezeit im Fotograben während der ersten Nummer war ob der direkt daneben befindlichen Boxen wahrlich kein Zuckerschlecken für die Ohren) und mit einer bis ins letzte Detail ausgeklügelten Performance.

Es war kalt, es war heiß. Es war laut, es war schnell. Es war hart, es war grell. Das Urban Art Forms Festival 2009 hatte eine Menge zu bieten. Musikalisch, visuell, historisch. Dies ist der Start der einer kleinen Serie mit Bildern vom UAF 2009, in denen nicht nur musikalische Highlights Platz finden.
